Russian Defense accuses kyiv of targeting ships involved in grain exports – RT in French

According to the Russian Defense, the navy of Sevastopol would have succeeded in thwarting a drone attack which targeted Russian buildings involved in Ukrainian grain exports. No injuries would be reported.

The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozjayev, published a message on Telegram on October 29 in which he explained that a drone attack targeting the Russian fleet off the city was repelled in the morning. According to the Russian military, the ships attacked were involved in Ukrainian grain exports.

No one would have been injured but the Russian Defense, which denounced a “terrorist attack”, reports “minor damage” on a military vessel. As the Tass agency explains, the Russian army blamed this attack on Ukraine.

All drones have been destroyed

“Tonight was the most massive attack by drones and remotely piloted surface vehicles on the waters of Sevastopol Bay in the history of the conflict,” said the senior Russian official, quoted by Tass.

Russian Defense accuses London of involvement

“For several hours on October 29, starting at 4:30 a.m., various air defense systems in Sevastopol repelled drone attacks. All the drones were destroyed,” the governor also described, according to whom no civilian infrastructure was affected, apart from a window in the foyer of the Vocational School of Art in Sevastopol, which allegedly exploded “because of ‘a loud noise”. “At present, the balance sheet is as follows: in addition to the drones [aériens]according to preliminary information, our military also shot down a surface drone in the water area,” he continued.

A total of nine aerial drones and seven autonomous maritime drones were involved in the attack, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, quoted by Tass. “It should be emphasized that the ships of the Black Sea Fleet which were the subject of the terrorist attack are taking part in securing the grain corridor within the framework of the international initiative for the export of agricultural products from ports Ukrainians,” said the spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry. “The preparation of this terrorist act and the training of military personnel of the 73rd Ukrainian center for special maritime operations were carried out by British specialists based in Otchakov, in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine”, also accused Igor Konashenkov. The British Defense immediately reacted, believing that this was a “spread of false claims of epic proportions”.

Crimea under high tension

The event resulted in the closure of the aquatic area, said Mikhail Razvozjayev, adding that all city services were on alert.

Two days earlier, local authorities had reported a drone attack on the Balaklava power plant causing a fire to start in one of the transformers, which was under maintenance and not working.

Crimea, attached to Russia in 2014 after a referendum based on the right of peoples to self-determination, and deemed “illegal” by kyiv and its Western allies, has been at the forefront of Russian intervention in Ukraine since end of February. The Crimean bridge linking the peninsula to the rest of the Russian Federation was damaged by a truck bomb explosion on October 8, an attack which was described by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “terrorist act” and blamed by the Russian Security Service (FSB) to the Ukrainian Secret Service, while Kyiv has denied involvement.

“We ordered absolutely nothing like that, as far as I know,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on October 19 of the October 8 explosion which, beyond the property damage it caused , killed three people instantly.
