Lukaku has apologized for his controversial interview during talks with Thomas Tuchel on Monday and the forward is available for selection to face Spurs.
After going public with his displeasure at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku was left out entirely against Liverpool on Sunday.
But he trained with the Chelsea squad on Monday and may have an immediate opportunity to redeem himself from disgruntled fans when Chelsea face Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Tuchel said: “We were happy to have taken the time to watch it calmly. He apologized and is back in the squad for today’s practice. For me the most important thing was to understand. He didn’t do that on purpose to create that kind of noise in front of a big game. “
Lukaku held a productive meeting with Tuchel on Monday in which he expressed regret over his unauthorized interview with Sky Italia, in which he said he was “not happy” with his situation at the club and would like a day return to Inter Milan.
Lukaku faced a sticky encounter with Tuchel but has no plans to leave Stamford Bridge. The club’s record signing of £ 97.5million is keen to move on from the episode and there is no chance he will leave Chelsea in January.
