Sarah Weddington, one of the attorneys who argued the landmark Roe v. Wade in 1973, died at the age of 76, a former student said on Sunday.
“Sarah Weddington passed away this morning after a series of health problems,” said Susan Hayes, a Democratic lawyer running for Texas agriculture commissioner, a former Weddington student, wrote on Twitter Sunday.
Her reported death comes as the Supreme Court examines a case that could overturn the landmark abortion case.
