Roberto Firmino reaches 10-match goalless streak as Edouard Mendy concedes comical own goal

Things continue to deteriorate for Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy in Saudi Arabia.

The two former Premier League regulars were already feeling the heat as fans began to turn on them, and things got even worse against Al Hilal.

In a big clash in Saudi Pro League between the two teams belonging to PIF, Al Hilal prevailed with a 3-1 victory.

Former Fulham great Aleksandar Mitrovic got on the scoresheet despite a missed penalty, taking it to 12 goals in 13 games for his new side.

However, things could hardly have been more different for his opposing striker, Liverpool legend Firmino.

The 32-year-old is now on a ten-game goalless streak since a hat-trick on his debut, and is facing demands to be dropped for national team number 9 Feras Al-Buraikan.

Things were arguably worse for his compatriot Roger Ibanez.

Allan Saint Maximin had reduced the score to 2-1 just before the hour mark, and Al Ahli looked to equalize.

The former Roma centre-back sent a simple header back to Mendy to recover and restart an attack, but instead nodded it straight and into the back of the net past the former Chelsea goalscorer.

Ibanez collapsed to the ground, embarrassed, and Mendy was not happy at all, praying to the heavens in disbelief.

Al Ahli had had a decent run before the match, but that was largely without help from Firmino, who will only have more pressure on his shoulders for a torrid start.
