Radio audiences: Fiasco for Sophie Davant on Europe 1, France Inter pays cash for the eviction of Charline Vanhoenacker from the daily
Médiamétrie published this Thursday, November 16, 2023, the results of the first wave of the 2023/2024 season.
Laurent Ruquier saves the honor of RTL. According to the audiences covering the period September-October 2023 revealed this Thursday, November 16, 2023 by Médiamétrie, its show “Les gros têtes”, broadcast on RTL between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., is listened to every day on average by 981,000 people. The show star is up significantly over one year with a gain of 86,000 pairs of ears. Of the ten quarter-hours of the show, seven have more than a million listeners (up to 1.08 million between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.).

France Inter’s 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. schedule is in free fall
In this section, France Inter is therefore largely dominated. Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., Matthieu Noël, defector from Europe 1 last season to take over the 7:57 a.m. morning ticket, brought together, on average each day, 462,000 listeners. The comedian has had a better start to the season than last year: he convinced 72,000 new pairs of ears to join him.
Charged, for their part, with the mission – oh so perilous – of succeeding “C’est encore nous” – Marie Misset, Marine Baousson and Maïa Mazaurette, female trio at the head of “So far so good”, failed. 564,000 listeners are, on average, listening to this new show when the impertinence of Charline Vanhoenacker and Alex Vizorek was acclaimed, at the start of the 2022/2023 season, by 760,000 listeners. The box therefore records a decline of 196,000 listeners over one year. Consequently, the 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. slot on France Inter is down significantly compared to the same time last year (513,000 listeners over these two hours, -62,000).
For her part, Charline Vanhoenacker, now at the head of the show “Le grand Dimanche soir”, on Sundays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., is followed, on average, by 673,000 listeners. The comedian, accompanied by Guillaume Meurice, Aymeric Lompret, Juliette Arnaud and Waly Dia, blew up the box with a gain of 119,000 listeners over one year.
Sophie Davant well below 100,000 listeners
Behind the leading duo, “C’Cauet” on NRJ is stable over one year. Sébastien Cauet’s show, broadcast from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., was listened to by 438,000 faithful, a slight increase of 5,000 faithful over one year.
Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on RMC, the “Super Moscato Show” by Vincent Moscato, boosted by the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the progress of the Blues by Fabien Galthié, is strong 408,000 listeners, up 84,000 over one year.
As for Europe 1, which was banking on Sophie Davant to give new impetus, the bet is, for the moment, a failure. Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., “Sophie and the friends” was able to count on an average base of 76,000 listeners (the average drops to 53,000 between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m.). In September and October 2022, in the same box, “Historically yours” by Stéphane Bern, whose start time was brought forward to 3 p.m. this season, was followed, on average, by 110,000 anecdote buffs. Thus, 34,000 listeners of the station with the blue logo left in one year.
