Quinta Brunson Disturbed by Calls for School Shooting Episode of ‘Abbott Elementary’

Congratulations, Twitter – you have Quinta Brunson completely perplexed.

The creator and star of “Abbott Elementarytweeted Wednesday in response to the “wild” number of people who asked if she would ever address the issue of school shootings on her ABC sitcom.

“Abbott Elementary” is a mockumentary-style family show set in an underfunded, predominantly black school in Philadelphia.

“Wild how many people have requested a school shoot episode of the show I write,” Brunson tweeted on Wednesday, just a day after the massacre. at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

“People are so far removed from demanding more from the politicians they have elected and are instead asking for ‘entertainment,'” she added. “I can’t ask ‘are you okay’ anymore, because the answer is ‘no’.”

Texas experienced its deadliest school shooting in state history on Tuesday when a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Uvalde, killing at least 19 children and two teachers.

This tragic event is just one of many gun-related massacres that have occurred in the United States over the past two decades. The federal government has taken relatively little action on gun control despite widespread public demand, such as the 2018 March for Our Lives protest.

The problem has become so serious that on Wednesday the front page of the satirical site The Onion featured 21 stories about public killings.
