PUBG Developer Creating Their Own Sims in Unreal Engine 5

Krafton, the studio behind the battle royale PUBG, is trying something different: a Sims competitor built in Unreal Engine 5.

Krafton demonstrated the game at G-STAR 2023, an international gaming event in Busan, South Korea. The video below presents an impressive life simulation game with realistic graphics.

The familiar Sims elements are present and correct, but with a hyper-realistic feel. We see the characters going about their business, character creation, relationships, Build mode, and a Director mode where you can change the character’s schedule, the weather, and even the city. You can also apply filters to the game image.

InZoi is one of Krafton’s new “self-developed” games set to release starting in 2024. He says players “become gods” in the game, allowing them to change everything as they please “and experiencing endless new stories in various forms of life.”

Here is the official blurb: “Do you have the life you’ve always dreamed of? Do you need a unique experience that blurs the line between reality and imagination? In InZoi, you can freely control the world like a god and make your ideal life a reality. Additionally, rather than just living the life you are given, you can become the protagonist who lives the life you want. It’s time to create your own story at InZoi, where endless possibilities await!

This is all we have for now, and there is no release window. But with The Sims 5 waiting in the wings, InZoi is certainly one to watch.
