Police ask for information on ‘suspicious’ disappearance of couple in Washington

Police are searching for a married couple who mysteriously disappeared this week in “suspicious” circumstances, and have appealed to the public for any information.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said Karen Koep and her husband, identified only as Davido, of Washington state, had been missing for several days.
The alarm was raised Monday when officers conducted a welfare check at their home in the Lake Forest neighborhood north of Seattle after one of the two men failed to show up for work.
Officers who showed up “discovered that the husband and wife were missing and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance are suspicious,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement posted Wednesday on Facebook.
Their car was later found on a street in Lacey, east of Olympia, near where Koep works as a chiropractor, according to a posting on Zocdoc.
Commenters on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook posts praised his work as a chiropractor and expressed shock at his disappearance. “He’s my chiropractor. She is marvellous. I hope all is well!” we wrote.
The sheriff’s office released a photo of the silver 2015 Toyota Yaris in hopes it would generate leads from the public.
“To ensure the integrity of the investigation, we have not released many details. But if you have seen the vehicle pictured above, please contact us at detectives@co.thhurston.wa.us or via dispatch, 360-704-2740,” the sheriff’s office said.
Local and state authorities are now involved in the search.
