Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla tested positive for Covid

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said on Monday he had tested positive for Covid-19 and had very mild symptoms.
Bourla, 60, said he was started on the company’s Covid-19 oral antiviral treatment, Paxlovid, and was self-isolating and following all public health precautions.
“I am confident that I will have a speedy recovery,” Bourla said in a statement.
Several public figures have tested positive for the infectious disease in recent months, including President Joe Biden and his chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Biden spent more than two weeks in isolation at the White House after two bouts with Covid-19. The second case is thought to be a ‘rebound’ felt by some Covid patients taking Paxlovid.
Paxlovid is an antiviral medicine used to treat people at high risk, such as elderly patients.
Bourla received four doses of the Covid vaccine developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.
