Pep Guardiola had a special message for Manchester United fans hoping Man City would thwart Liverpool’s four-time bid

Pep Guardiola has jokingly invited Manchester United fans to join Man City’s title celebrations, should his side win the league on the final day of the season.

City are in pole position to win a fourth Premier League title in five seasons, holding a one-point advantage over Liverpool.

The Manchester club know a win over Aston Villa will ensure their season ends with the trophy being lifted at the Etihad.

Liverpool face Wolves who need a helping hand from their favorite son – Steven Gerrard, who is now Villa manager.

Manchester United fans face a tough choice between who they want to win the title, their city rivals or Liverpool.

Liverpool would likely be their favorite as it would prevent a historic treble and prevent them from emulating Sir Alex Ferguson’s side’s 1999 treble success.

When asked how he thought United fans were likely to cheer on his team, he replied: Are you sure? Yeah? So United like City more than Liverpool? Oh my God, I didn’t know that. Is it true?”

When assured by reporters that was the case, he referenced his comments when he claimed there was a bias towards Liverpool in their four-time offer.

“So I was wrong when I said everyone wants Liverpool in this country!?” he said “I was wrong”.

Guardiola also had a message for United fans, telling them they were welcome to join in all the celebrations.

He added: “Yes, welcome. Welcome. If they want to join us on the streets. But they have to wear the blue shirt, yeah. They have to wear it!
