Pelosi: Family ‘heartbroken and traumatized’ by her husband’s attack

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Saturday night that she and her family were “heartbroken and traumatized” in her first comments since her husband Paul was attacked in their San Francisco home.

“We are grateful for the quick response from law enforcement and emergency services, and for the life-saving medical care he is receiving,” the speaker said in a “Dear Colleague” letter.

The alleged abuser, David DePape, faces homicide and elder abuse charges after he broke into the Pelosis home and attacked Paul with a hammer early Friday.
