Speaking ahead of Monday’s trip to Newcastle United, Ralf Rangnick confirmed that the Frenchman will need two more weeks before tackling anything close to the game’s fitness, having recently worked on recovering from his thigh injury in Dubai.
“For the moment, it is a question of getting back in shape, of training, not to say of getting back in shape”, he declared on the official site of the club.
“I think it will take, as far as I know, a few more weeks and until then I will focus entirely on the players available and with whom I can play in the next games to come.”
Out of contract this summer, Rangnick previously revealed that there have been discussions about the 28-year-old’s future, although there is currently no news regarding a possible contract extension.
