Paul Gallen is said to have prepared for two fights on the same night in an ambitious plan to conclude his boxing career

Paul Gallen is said to be in talks to try and end his boxing career in remarkable fashion by having two fights on the same night.

The NRL (Australia and New Zealand National Rugby League) legend has built a professional boxing record of 12-2-1 and is a big star in his native country.

Last year, Gallen even managed to beat former WBA “regular” belt holder Lucas Browne by knockout.

His only two defeats have come in two challenges for the Australian heavyweight title in two of his last three fights.

However, he is now 40 and has made it clear that his career is coming to an end.

According to FOX Sports Australia, Gallen will try to wrap up his trip in a unique way, having two fights on the same night.

The event is reportedly scheduled for a September date in Queensland.

One of Gallen’s opponents is likely to be Justin Hodges – another former NRL star.

His second opponent is not yet determined.

The shortlist is reported to include other NRL stars with Ben Hannant, Sam Thaiday, Russell Packer and Chris Walker included as probed.

At present, however, there is no confirmation of who could take over.
