UFC star Khamzat Chimaev is struggling to choose sides ahead of Darren Till’s next fight against Jack Hermansson next month.

The middleweight duo are set to square off in UFC London’s co-main event at the O2 Arena on July 23 and many expected Chimaev to be in Till’s corner on fight night.

Chimaev became good friends with Till

Chimaev and Till have struck up an unlikely friendship lately. Both men work with NFT Platform, Blockassest, which has uploaded videos of UFC fighters training and having fun together.

Till was in the “Borz” corner at UFC 273 and Chimaev was expected to return the favor when the Liverpudlian returns to the Octagon against Hermansson, but now it looks like there could be a conflict of interest.

The 28-year-old was recently pictured training with Hermansson who took to social media after a recent training session: ‘Doing a few rounds with the wolf!’

Chimaev and Hermansson have always had a friendly relationship. Both men are from Sweden and have trained together in the past due to the lack of quality MMA gyms in the country.

Last year, the UFC stars faced off in a grappling match at the Bulldog Fight Night 9 event in Gothenburg, with Chiamev earning a dominating victory on points over his compatriot.

Chimaev picked up an 8-0 points win when he faced Hermansson last year

Till has struggled for form in recent years and failed to capitalize on an impressive win over Kelvin Gastelum in his middleweight debut, since suffering back-to-back losses to Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson.

‘The Gorilla’ has been working on his struggle with Chimaev since his last loss and he will have to use his new skills against a renowned grappler in July.

Former Cage Warriors champion Hermansson has successfully established himself among the UFC’s middleweight elite in recent years.

‘The Joker’ is currently looking to re-establish himself as a true contender after slipping to losses to Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori in recent fights.

Meanwhile, Chimaev is poised to claim the title after picking up an impressive win over top welterweight contender Gilbert Burns in his last fight.
