Pakistani police say an explosion at a gas station in the southern port city of Karachi killed at least four
KARACHI, Pakistan – An explosion at a gas station left at least four dead and six injured in southern Pakistan on Friday, police said.
The explosion in Karachi was the result of a short circuit inside a room where the electrical system is being checked, according to Nasir Aftab, the city’s deputy inspector general of police. Broken glass hit customers who were waiting their turn for fuel, he said.
Aftab said the explosion was not sabotage, but officers were still investigating.
Karachi is the capital of the southern province of Sindh, where such incidents are rare.
