UFC prospect Paddy Pimblett found himself in another unlikely jam, this time bickering with MMA legend Stephan Bonnar on social media.
It comes just days after ‘The Baddy’ clashed with former Premier League footballer Curtis Woodhouse after a section of Liverpool fans booed the national anthem and Prince William ahead of their Premier League final win. FA Cup against Chelsea at Wembley.
Pimblett has been traveling to America for a few weeks and while in the United States went to see UFC 274.
During his conversation with the media gathered at the event, Pimblett claimed that a negative experience with one of his sports heroes influenced the way he deals with fans now that he is famous.
“I remember when I was a kid, when they did the first ever UFC Fan Expo in London, and I asked Stephan Bonnar for a picture, and he left,” Pimblett said.
“He said, ‘I don’t have time’ and he left and I never forgot him. So eat shit, Stephan Bonnar. Eat shit, man.
Bonnar, who along with Forrest Griffin is often credited with saving the UFC from collapse when they fought in The Ultimate Fighter 1 finale, took to social media to address Pimblett who disparaged him.
“Paddy Pimblett says I didn’t take a picture with him at UFC Expos. Well, you know what? I shuffled shirts at those Expos,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

“I was there all day to take pictures. The only time I wouldn’t is if I came back from the bathroom. I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll take all the pictures you want with me, follow me to my booth, walk with me, talk with me.
“The only people who weren’t photographed were the ones who were bigger f****** muppets to walk and talk with me and back to my booth and unfortunately Paddy was one of those muppets.
“Bad Paddy? More like Baby Paddy. F****** muppet.
The UFC lightweight prospect quickly caught wind of Bonnar’s response and accused the Hall of Famer of pretending to remember their encounter.
“What are you lying about Stephan,” Pimblett tweeted. “Just owner, my boy, me and my mate, we ran over it, we asked just 2 of us for a photo and you turned away from us saying you didn’t have time.
“So don’t start talking pony now like you remember because you had no idea who I was it wasn’t my fault I bit your ass now.”
