Oscar De La Hoya was quickly won over by 21-year-old welterweight prospect Daniel Luna.
Luna, who signed with De La Hoya’s promotional company Golden Boy Promotions, is just 2-0 (2 KOs).
However, in his last fight, Luna scored a knockout that any established professional would be proud of.
Granted, he faced limited opposition when he faced Jonathan Teofilo who had only had one previous fight that ended in a draw.
Either way, Luna sent it in a polished way.
Teofilo launched a relentless assault, but was knocked out by a single left hook.
He planted himself facing the canvas and Luna won by KO.
De La Hoya posted the clip on Saturday and captioned it: “Amazing KO of Golden Boy fighter Daniel Luna.
“Check it out September 7.”
Indeed, Luna will play his third professional fight next Thursday in California.
He will face 0-2 journeyman Alexander Gutierrez.
Luna will be looking to extend her unbeaten run to 3-0 (3 KOs).
