Obituaries of 3 students, 3 adults killed in fiery Ohio bus crash
The fiery five-vehicle crash, including a band student bus, killed six people and injured 18 other members of the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools community.
Three students, a teacher and two parents died. They were driving to an Ohio School Boards Association high school band performance in Columbus.

- Katelyn Owens, 15, high school sophomore in Mineral City
- Wyatt Mosley, 18, Mineral City High School student
- Jeffery D. Worrell, 18, Bolivar High School student
- Dave Kennat, 56, Navarrese high school teacher
- Kristy Gaynor, 39, parent-accompanist of Zoar
- Shannon Wigfield, 45, Bolivar’s parent chaperone, who was also a teacher at the Buckeye Career Center

“John Wyatt Mosley, 18, of Mineral City, was called home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was an extraordinary young man, instrumentally and vocally talented. He was very humble, caring, funny, intelligent, a very hard worker and always seemed ahead of his time throughout his life. Deeply loved by all his family and friends, he would lend a helping hand to anyone in need with great compassion “He loved music, hanging out with his very good friends, programming games and loved acting. He will be so missed by all who knew him,” the obituary read.

Jeffery Worrell, 18, of Bolivar
“Jeffery David Worrell, of Bolivar, also known as JD and ‘Kitten,’ was taken from the world at the age of 18 on November 14, 2023. Jeff was a high school senior who attended Tusky Valley High School, where he was in the marching band. “He loved being part of the band and was everyone’s friend. He enjoyed acting, performing in a number of school productions and was very involved in the choir and speech and debate team,” the obituary read.
