Another water crisis in Jackson causes problems for education. The latest water emergency has forced all public schools in Jackson to go virtual until further notice. The administration with JPS said families without devices are asked to pick them up at their designated school from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served at select school sites depending on the adequacy of water for food preparation. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Officials will monitor day-to-day water conditions. Ambition Preparatory Charter School will be closed on Tuesday due to lack of available water. EE Rogers in Jackson will not meet in person on Tuesday. Families will be able to pick up virtual learning devices, materials and meals from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Jackson State University moved all classes virtual for the remainder of the week as the campus experiences ongoing water pressure issues. will be made available today and water will be delivered to university residences. Showers are available in Flowood, Clinton and Brandon Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, showers will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students must provide school ID when using the facilities.
