NY Dem accused of sleeping with co-workers and drinking at WH work

Democrat Matt Castelli, a former CIA agent running for Congress from New York, allegedly drank alcohol on the clock and had sex with several colleagues in a White House office during his time on the Council of national security, according to a Daily Mail report.
Castelli served as director of the National Security Council’s Counterterrorism Division under former President Barack Obama and remained through the first year of former President Donald Trump’s administration before launching his campaign to oust Republican Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
However, Castelli’s seemingly “open” reputation for partying, drinking on the clock, and having sex with co-workers is coming back to haunt his campaign for Congress.
Castelli allegedly slept with women in the “prayer room” of Eisenhower’s Executive Office Building, which is connected to the White House and where National Security Council staffers work.
As the Daily Mail reported:
“He told us all about the prayer room – it was his thing,” a former colleague said of Castelli. The co-worker said Castelli told a story where, during or after the NSC Christmas party in 2017, he dragged a co-worker into the prayer room to have sex. “There were a few other times he snuck out during the day,” to meet women, the colleague, who requested anonymity to speak freely, told DailyMail.com.
Castelli allegedly had sex with three of his female colleagues, including a married one.
“It was open – there were no secrets about it,” one of Castelli’s former colleagues told the Daily Mail.
Castelli also had an affinity for stopwatch drinking, which contributed to a “widespread drinking culture” within his counterterrorism team.
“The source said there was a ‘widespread drinking culture’ within the team and Castelli was one to go out for beers and back to the office, sometimes staying so long he perceived overtime.”I feel a little bad but the dude just liked to party,” the Daily Mail reported.
Another former colleague, who told the Daily Mail he was “very aware” of Castelli’s behavior at work, confirmed that Castelli would “brag” to his other colleagues about his parties, his drinking and of his various encounters with women at work.
However, Castelli’s campaign dismissed the comments from these former colleagues as “political blockbuster work by Elise Stefanik’s allies.”
“Allegations of impropriety in Castelli’s professional, personal or private conduct are clearly a political stunt by Elise Stefanik’s allies, as she is afraid to stand against a patriot like Matt Castelli who served our country then. that she only serves herself,” Castelli’s team said. daily mail.
Castelli will have to defeat Democrat Matt Putorti in the New York primary on Aug. 23 before facing Rep. Stefanik in the November election.
Earlier in the year, Castelli was one of many Democrats to attend a vigil by a far-left group where they accused those who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6 of treason. At the vigil, Castell claimed that Stefanik “violated his oath that day in his actions and has continued to do so every day since.”
Additionally, Castelli compared Stefanik to American Revolutionary War traitor Benedict Arnold.
“His actions remind me of another person with ties to the North Country. … I’m talking about the traitorous Benedict Arnold, and his spirit of betrayal is alive and well in MP Elise Stefanik,” Castelli said.
The former CIA agent recently said the Jan. 6 Capitol riots inspired him to run for Congress.
“I led teams taking down some of the world’s most dangerous terrorists, who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. But after COVID-19, we got to a point where we had 9/11 every day in this country in terms of deaths,” Castelli said. “So I left the government and joined a health care organization. But then January 6th happened.
