“WokeAF” podcast host Danielle Moodie-Mills said on MSNBC’s “Symone” on Saturday that if former President Donald Trump is not indicted, it will turn the United States into a “banana republic.”
Moodie-Mills said, “I think what we saw from the House bipartisan committee on January 6 is, in fact, a thorough investigation and the use of Trump’s own people, in their own words, to exactly expose the fact that, guess what, it wasn’t just a serendipitous act, people caught in the moment, it was a plan, a strategic attack on our Capitol building and our democracy led by the President of the United States .
She added: “The job of the January 6 Committee was to make this public, to bring it to the fore and to say that it was not an accident. It wasn’t, like, a lone wolf incident and people got emotional. They were directed and they were armed. We knew that Donald Trump knew that these crowds of people had guns. What did he say? They are not here to hurt me. So I think right now the ball is in the hands of Merrick Garland and Jack Smith to decide whether or not this is something that America is going to ignore and turn us into a banana republic, or something on which they will act. and ensure that democracy will always hold.
