A North Carolina nanny was arrested on charges of child abuse this week after the parents of the 2-year-old watched their nanny force-feed him live on video, according to reports.

Max Oglesby, the boy’s father, posted a video of the incident on Facebook, writing that he and his wife had to make the “difficult” decision to hire a nanny a few days a week so they could work at their bar in Washington, North Carolina.

But when they turned on the nanny’s camera during a bar break, they allegedly saw her hold their son in his high chair and put food in his mouth – then hold his mouth shut.

Oglesby said he and his wife immediately returned home to New Bern, North Carolina, but first told Max’s mother to come home while they made the hour drive, according to the New Bern Sun-Journal.

“It was being watched by us live and only a LITTLE clip of the 2 HOURS she spent doing this to our son,” he alleged. “We are heartbroken for our son and furious that this has happened. We are taking the appropriate action about it and will not allow this to happen to our baby or anyone else’s babies.”

The nanny, identified as Lauren Rowe, was arrested Wednesday and released on $ 2,500 bail. His next court date is Nov. 8, according to WITN-TV in Washington, North Carolina.

The parents claimed that their son had bruises on his arm after the incident.

Oglesby said Rowe was recommended to his wife via a local Moms Facebook group and that she checked out Care.com.

“I feel like we’ve taken the right steps,” he said, according to the Sun Journal.

Laura Oglesby, the boy’s mother, told WITN: “I wanted to kick her (beep), I wanted to come over here and corner her and I wanted to put food in her mouth.”
