New York’s Solow Family Art Gallery will finally welcome visitors in May

Since we first reported in January 2022 that the Solow Family Art Gallery at 9 West 57th Street would finally be open to the public, we’ve been asked, “Yeah, but when?”
After decades of the gallery being closed to the public, what is now known as the Soloviev Foundation Gallery on the ground floor of the tower will welcome its first public visitors in May.
“We are thrilled to now integrate it into the city’s vibrant visual arts scene,” Soloviev Group President Stefan Soloviev said in a statement.
Admission to the Masterpieces of Giacometti and Matisse exhibition space will initially be by appointment only, which can be booked at gallery@solovievfoundation.org
Hayden Soloviev, a son of Stefan, said there would initially be two accompanied visits per month.
The Solovyov Group is also working with architect Thomas Phifer to exhibit more works in the future.
The tower, one of the city’s main offices, was developed by Stefan’s late father, Sheldon Solow.
