New York Mayor Eric Adams lambasted Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Sunday after a second bus full of illegal migrants arrived at his doorstep.

Adams gave a Sunday morning press conference at the Port Authority where he greeted an incoming bus of about 40 migrants — only 14 of whom disembarked in the Big Apple.

“It’s horrible when you think about what the governor is doing,” Adams said, noting that many arriving families didn’t know they were coming to New York.

“We see that some of the families are on the bus who wanted to go to other places, and they weren’t allowed to,” the mayor said. “They were forced to get on the bus knowing they were going to other places they wanted to go, and when they tried to explain they weren’t allowed to.”

His comments follow the first arrival of around 50 migrants at a port authority in New York on Friday. The bus arrived on the orders of Abbott, who dispatched cross-border commuters to liberal towns to bring attention to the issue of illegal immigration in his own state.

Adams accused the governor of using innocent people “as political pawns to manufacture a crisis.”

On Sunday, he complained that Abbott’s administration was not properly notifying New York City of the arrival of migrants.

“They don’t let us know when the buses are leaving. They don’t let us know what the needs of the people on the bus are,” Adams said. “They don’t give us any information, so we’re not able to really provide the service to people on the way.”

Abbott has also been sending illegal immigrants to Washington, DC, since April to protest the Biden administration’s refusal to act on the border crisis in Texas.

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York is the perfect destination for these migrants, who can benefit from the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about in the sanctuary city,” Abbott said in a press release on Friday.

He added: “I hope he keeps his promise to welcome all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”
