New York Governor Hochul reverses course on telling rivals to move to Florida

Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) canceled a call telling her political rivals to move to Florida. She is now sounding the alarm over the massive loss of population in her state.

In August, during his campaign to win a full term after replacing disgraced Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo, Hochul Told his political rivals to move to Florida…

“We are here to say that the era of Trump and [Lee] Zeldin and [Marc] Molinaro – just hop on a bus and head to Florida where you belong, okay? Hochul said, according to a transcription. “Get out of town.” Hochul said the Republican candidates don’t “represent our values.”

“You are not New Yorkers,” she added. “We come from a long line of people who fought for women’s rights and performed here first. We fought for environmental justice which happened here first. We fought for labor rights which happened here first. We fought for LGBTQ rights which happened here first.

She sang a different tune after being sworn in on Sunday, The New York Times reported:

The governor, who is expected to unveil a plan later this year to build 800,000 new homes over the next decade, said high housing and energy costs are ‘making life too difficult for New Yorkers’ . She is committed to addressing the state’s years of population loss by creating jobs and economic opportunity in the state.

“New Yorkers are just struggling to afford rent, food and gas to get to work,” she said. “They hurt.”

“We must and will make our state safe,” she added. “We need to make our state more affordable…And we need to reverse the trend of people leaving our state in search of lower costs and opportunities elsewhere.”

You can understand why, with New York City alone losing 16% of its top taxpayers.

How exactly she will do that when far-left Democrats enjoy a non-vetoing majority in the New York State Legislature remains to be seen.

She has already tried and failed to kill New York’s senseless “reform” bail laws that put suspected violent criminals back on the streets, including those with a myriad of prior convictions. We are talking about dangerous people who have no reason to be released.

How will she defeat a veto-proof Democratic majority dedicated to her fascist version of a “utopia” with impossibly high taxes, ridiculous environmental regulations and an obvious desire to push people out of the state? who think and vote differently?

People fleeing New York are not a bug in the system. It’s a feature. Democrats want unlimited power to reorganize society, and the best way to achieve that is to eliminate all opposition.

These Democrats don’t care if New York’s population is 40 million to four million. They want to rule and rule alone.

As for those leftist fascists, good riddance to the record number of citizens who have fled their state.
