NeNe Leakes has shared a happy update on her son Brentt Leakes’ health just in time for the holidays.
The former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star, 54, shared on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday that the 23-year-old club owner was learning to walk again after suffering a stroke on September 26.
In one of the clips, Brentt appears wearing a bright pink tracksuit, while taking a few steps down a hospital hallway.
The nurses and NeNe can be heard cheering him on as he walks around.
“I’m so happy for you,” adds the proud mom. “It’s so good.”
She later noted in a text message, “To God be the glory.”
It appears Brentt had just been discharged from the hospital as NeNe pointed out that he was “discharged” after being admitted just two months ago.
“Home just in time for vacation,” the reality star also posted, before adding, “Nurses are the best.
NeNe also gave a glimpse of what Brentt’s recovery was really like by sharing a video of him “learning to walk again” on a treadmill with a contraption that helped him stay awake.
In a separate video, he was seen taking backward steps while again hooked up to a device that helped him walk while he threw a basketball and worked on his hand-eye coordination.
In early October, NeNe confirmed the news that her son had been rushed to hospital after suffering “congestive heart failure and a stroke.”
At the time, she said doctors were still working to find answers as to why Brentt experienced such health issues at such a young age.
However, the Bravolebrity alum says experts have ruled out concerns about his weight.
“They thought maybe he had COVID and maybe he didn’t know he had COVID,” NeNe said at the time, noting that doctors would have informed her that people who had had the Delta variant of the infection had experienced similar problems. .
The ‘shocked’ reality star added at the time: ‘We’re still trying to figure it out because if we knew the cause they could obviously treat it.
It’s unclear if NeNe eventually learned what caused Brentt’s condition.
