Phelim McAleer, who co-produced my hunter son, pointed to the film’s $2.3 million crowdfunding from 30,000 backers as proof of the story’s importance. He offered his remarks in a panel discussion published in Thursday’s edition of Breitbart Daily News podcast with host Alex Marlow.
McAleer recalled how the Unreported Story Society, a non-profit organization he co-founded with Ann McElhinney, produced the film Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Greatest Serial Killer following the widespread media crackdown on the story of abortionist Kermit Gosnell who was convicted of first-degree murder in 2013.
“It started with the previous film we did on Gosnell,” McAleer said of the 2018 film. one was going to tell Gosnell’s story about the Philadelphia abortion doctor.”
He continued, “We assumed someone was going to make a movie, and at some point I realized, ‘Oh my God, my God, nobody’s going to do this. So we have to do it,” and so, we did.
McAleer emphasized grassroots support via crowdfunding for the production of My hunter son.
“We thought, ‘Could we raise money through crowdfunding?’ We were doing. We have 30,000 people, 2.3 million,” he noted. “HIt’s just another outrageous story being suppressed by the mainstream media, by the world, by Big Tech.
McAleer said of the Unreported Story Society namesake, “It’s kind of what we were created to do.”
