Actor Jeremy Strong helped care for actor Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger’s daughter after Ledger’s death, Williams told Variety.
The “Succession” actor, Williams said, moved into his home after the tragedy to accompany him, his friend and his sister. Strong was playing games and went so far as to act as the “pony” for Ledger’s daughter, Matilda, Variety reported.
“Jeremy was serious enough to bear the weight of a child’s broken heart and sensitive enough to understand how to approach him through play, games and silliness,” Williams told Variety.
“[Matilda] didn’t grow up with her dad, but she grew up with her Jeremy and we were changed by her ability to play like her life depended on it, because hers depended on it.

Matilda, 16, was Williams’ first and only child with Ledger, who died in 2008.
Williams has since started a family with director Thomas Kail, who shares 2-year-old son Hart with her. She is expecting a second child with the director, according to Variety.
Williams called the next addition to his family “totally joyful”.
“It’s exciting to find that something you want over and over again is available once again,” she told the magazine.
“This good fortune is not lost on me or my family.”
