Martin Odegaard established as chief creator of Arsenal after Norwich masterclass

Arsenal were following Buendia this summer and he was on their shortlist as they looked to bring in a new No.10.
In the end, the Argentina international went to Aston Villa and Arsenal bolstered their ranks by signing Odegaard from Real Madrid for around £ 30million.
Based on the past few weeks and this Carrow Road game, it’s money well spent, with Odegaard blossoming into the team’s chief creator.
Arsenal were rampant in this 5-0 win over struggling hosts and Odegaard was at the heart of it, pulling Norwich’s defense all over the place. He finished the game with two assists, but you can find his imprint on almost everything Arsenal has done in the future.
The Norwegian struggled a bit at the start of the season and there was a time when Alexandre Lacazette kept him away.
Now, however, Odegaard is one of the first names on the roster and Lacazette leads the line instead of running as a No 10.
It’s a formula that seems to work very well and in the last five games, which coincide with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s withdrawal from the squad, Arsenal have scored 19 goals.
It’s a definite comeback and they left Carrow Road with five to their name, and that tally didn’t exactly flatter them.
Bukayo Saka took them out and fled after six minutes, returning the ball home after Odegaard picked him.
Kieran Tierney made it 2-0 before the break, hitting the ball off the post after, you guessed it, Odegaard had pushed him back to the left.
The second half was about the same as Saka scored another, Lacazette netted a penalty and Emile Smith Rowe continued his streak off the bench. It was a five-star performance from Arsenal.
Tierney becomes the Flying Scotsman again
About a month ago, Tierney was fighting Nuno Tavares for his place in the squad, but since then his game has taken to another level.
The Scotsman has started flying up and down the left flank again, and this performance at Norwich has served as a reminder of his importance to Arsenal.
He took his goal brilliantly, straddling on the left and shooting the ball into the bottom corner of the post.
It also came at a pivotal point in the match, with Norwich roaring through the crowd after a few energetic tackles. Tierney silenced them in the best possible way as his lens sucked life into Carrow Road just as the noise level increased.
Partey regains his footing after a difficult period
Before Arsenal played against Manchester United earlier this month, Thomas Partey’s confidence was at an all-time low.
The midfielder rated his recent performances as four out of 10 and it was, to be honest, difficult to argue with him.
Partey, however, has started to gain a foothold recently and this performance against Norwich was another step on the road to recovery.
He looked a lot more assertive in the middle of the park, pulverizing the ball and interrupting play. It’s just a shame for Arsenal that they take part in the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
