Marjorie Taylor Greene says Republicans don’t need to protest Trump’s potential arrest
Shortly after former President Donald Trump announced he expected to be arrested, U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said Republicans need not protest a possible impending arrest because ” communist democrats” sealed their fate.
The Georgia representative took to her business Twitter account several times on Saturday to share her thoughts on Trump’s Truth Social post, where he said illegal leaks from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office led him to believe that he would be arrested on Tuesday.
In her first tweet on Saturday morning, Greene came after the Justice Department and the Manhattan DA saying the potential arrest is “ALL FOR POLITICS!”
“That’s what they do in communist countries to destroy their political opponents!” Greene wrote. “Republicans in Congress MUST subpoena these Communists and END this! We have the power to do that, and we also have the power to SET their salaries and departments! Enough of that!”

Trump’s post on Truth Social exploded on social media on Saturday morning after reports of a possible indictment, prompting a backlash from politicians on both sides of the aisle and other prominent figures. The message read as follows:

Twitter CEO Elon Musk was among the reacters, responding to a tweet related to the possible arrest by saying, “If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory.”

Fox News Digital reported Saturday afternoon that a court source said Office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will meet with law enforcement to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean they anticipate a charge next week.”
The potential indictment stems from the years-long investigation surrounding Trump’s alleged secret money scandal involving a porn star Stormy Daniels. Late in the 2016 presidential campaign, Michael Cohen, then Trump’s lawyer, sent $130,000 to Daniels to stop him from disclosing his 2006 affair with Trump. Trump repaid Cohen in installments.
Trump spokesman Steven Cheung blasted the investigation in a lengthy statement to Fox News Digital, calling it a “witch hunt” and accusing Bragg of being in the pocket of President Biden and “radical Democrats.” .
“President Donald J. Trump is completely innocent, he has done nothing wrong, and even the most radical left-wing Democrats make that clear,” Cheung said.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office did not “confirm or comment” on the impending indictment when contacted for comment on Friday.
