Marjorie Taylor Greene roasted for ‘godless’ complaint about Sam Smith and Kim Petras

The feisty, hell-themed rendition of their hit “Unholy” was bound to ruffle some feathers. Enter Greene, who offered his analysis in a nonsensical, conspiracy-laden tweet on Monday.

Smith and Petras made history Sunday night after winning Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Unholy.” Four-time Grammy winner Smith became the first non-binary artist to win the title, while first-time nominee Petras became the first openly transgender woman to do so.

Smith, who came out non-binary in 2019, has been the target of body shaming and anti-LGBTQ hate from conservatives and trolls since releasing their new album, “Gloria.” The music video for one track in particular, the aptly named “I’m not here to make friends,” sparked a cycle of prudish outrage after it was released in January.

As Greene and her followers clutched their pearls during Sunday night’s performance, many Twitter users could only laugh:
