Next Sunday, for the second round of these legislative elections, the candidate of Nupes, the ecologist Marine Tondelier, will offer herself the duel she was waiting for with Marine Le Pen. “We know that the second round is not going to be easy in this constituency, but we had already been told that we would never be able to overcome the first and finally, we are there”, underlines the candidate of Nupes. “So that’s not enough because we know that we are probably in one of the most difficult constituencies in France, but we didn’t show up here to make it easy. We fight for the people we represented.”
Still, Marine Le Pen came out on top in all the municipalities of the constituency, and it is hard to see how she could be beaten in her stronghold, in Hénin-Beaumont.
