iverpool was boosted by Naby Keita’s availability for this afternoon’s clash with Brighton, after the midfielder escaped a serious tackle injury which earned Paul Pogba a red card in the strike from Manchester United last weekend.
Keita was sent off in the second half at Old Trafford but resumed training this week and is available.
Liverpool will again be without Fabinho, who still suffers from a knee problem.
Thiago Alcantara is getting closer to a return to action following a calf injury.
Jurgen Klopp has to decide whether to recall Sadio Mane after resting against Manchester United.
The Liverpool boss also has to decide whether to stay with Ibrahima Konate alongside Virgil van Dijk or bring Joel Matip back to the squad.
“Naby Keita looks good,” Klopp said on Friday.
“We were all surprised, but he was obviously lucky, so I think he will be ready.
“With Fabinho it doesn’t look good, it’s a little more complicated. Not too complicated, but complicated enough to keep him out again, probably. I’m still waiting for the latest news, but he was not yet in team training and that is never a good sign.
“Thiago was training as a team for the first time yesterday. We did a session where he could be a part of pretty much the whole session, [but] that doesn’t mean he’s ready to play soccer, unfortunately.
“We’ll see what we do with him, but he’s closer than he was last week, much closer. Now we have to see what we do with it. “
Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konaté, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Henderson, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane
