Lauren Price picked up a victory over Lolita Muzeya on Saturday night, but it didn’t happen in the circumstances she would have liked.

The pair faced off under the rematch card between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr in Manchester.

Olympic gold medalist Price showed her quality, as she dominated the fight until the doctor called for a stoppage.

In round five, Price dropped Muzeya to the canvas with a brutal combination, but the Zambian got back to her feet.

During the exchange, the two fighters clashed and it left Muzeya with a nasty cut to his left eye.

The round then ended, but in the sixth, Muzeya had blood streaming down his face and the doctor could not allow the fight to continue.

The fight then went to the scorecards and Price took the win.

After the result was confirmed, Price, who has already won a British title, was asked if she would like to face former world champion Mikaela Mayer or current unified super-welterweight title holder Natasha Jonas next.

“I respect both girls for what they’ve done for women’s boxing,” Price said in her post-fight interview.

“For my part, Tash has the belt and I respect it 100%, but I want to chase world titles.

“We are both British and it would be an honor to share the ring with her.”
