To learn about the craftsmen’s know-how or to test a trade, there are practical workshops. Thursday, May 26, journalist Valérie Hurtel was on the 13 Hours set to present some of them.
Nothing more fascinating thanue to learn how to make objects. On the Internet, there is the We can doo platform. “It brings together 1,600 craftsmen who offer to welcome us for a few hours or a day. We learn to make an object and we leave with it”explains Valerie Hurtelon the set of 13 Heures, Thursday, May 26. “In Marseille, for 90 euros, Marie gives us all the tips for a successful lampshade. It’s her job, she’s an upholsterer. The workshop lasts three hours. Near Rouen, you can make pottery with Carole”says the journalist. For craftsmen, it is an additional income that can bring them around 800 euros per month.
For people who would like to retrain without taking any risks, a platform exists. “It’s called ‘test my job’. It offers immersions with professionals. It ranges from half a day to a whole week. This allows you to test yourself… Do you want to become a baker? Are you able to get up every day at 2 a.m.? The best is to try. There are plenty of professions that can be tested like this: real estate agent, truck driver, make-up artist”explains the journalist, before recalling that in a lifetime, you spend 100,000 hours at work so it is better to choose your job well.
