LeBron James asks Elon Musk to respond to ‘N Word’ ‘Scary AF’ outburst on Twitter

NBA star LeBron James called on Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk on Saturday to take action to deal with a worrying explosion on the social media platform of the use of the “N Word.”

“I hope he [Musk] and his people take it very seriously because it’s scary AF. So many unfit people say hate speech is free speech,” James tweeted.

Musk has in the past denounced Twitter’s content restrictions on misinformation and hate speech, calling them biased and unwarranted censorship. But unfettered content could be bad for his new business and even, in some cases, vulnerable to lawsuits.

Musk tried to reassure advertisers in a post last week that Twitter would not become a “free-for-all hellish landscape.” But users are apparently already challenging that promise.

musk on friday tweeted that it would not make “major content or account reinstatement decisions” until a new content “moderation board” is convened.

He did not immediately respond to James’ tweet.
