Europe 1 with AFP

The Council of Ministers recorded this Wednesday the departure of a weakened prefect. Laurent Nuñez, former director of the intelligence services and former secretary of state, succeeds Didier Lallement as prefect of police in Paris.

Laurent Nuñez, national coordinator of intelligence and the fight against terrorism, was appointed Wednesday in the Council of Ministers prefect of police of Paris, replacing Didier Lallement, announced the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin.

“The President of the Republic, on my proposal, has appointed Laurent Nunez Prefect of Police. It is the choice of a man of experience who knows the @prefpolice perfectly and who has exercised many national responsibilities”, wrote in a tweet Mr. Darmanin, adding: “the safety of Ile-de-France residents will be our priority”.
