The NBA’s Christmas Day schedule continues with a clash between the Nets and the Lakers.

Brooklyn, which is back in action after its last three games postponed due to the NBA’s COVID health and safety protocols, will be deprived of MVP candidate Kevin Durant, who entered the protocols last week. Nets set to get a big boost as James Harden should see his first action since December 10

The Lakers, who enter the holidays with a 16-17 record, are in desperate need of a win. Los Angeles have lost four in a row and while it will be without Anthony Davis, the LeBron James and Russell Westbrook duo will be looking to set the tone.

Like the Nets, the Lakers have recently dealt with injuries and players entering health and safety protocols, but will pick up a few players on Saturday, in addition to tough signings Darren Collison and Stanley Johnson.

8:15 p.m. –The Nets are on the ball early, taking an early eight-point lead to force the Lakers to request a time-out.

Brooklyn leads 14-6 with 8:15 left in the first.

The Nets shoot 6-7 from the field while the Lakers shoot 2v6 early.

8:10 p.m. – LeBron James is the first to step onto the set tonight, draining a midrange jumper to start the action.

LeBron is now 10 points away from matching Kobe Bryant as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer for Christmas Day.


7:40 p.m. – Departure for the Lakers: Russell Westbrook, Wayne Ellington, Talen Horton-Tucker, LeBron James and Dwight Howard.

The Nets will leave with a starting lineup of Patty Mills, James Harden, Bruce Brown, DeAndre ‘Bembry and Nic Claxton.

3:10 p.m. – Game # 1 at Arena.

1:10 p.m. – Avery Bradley and Malik Monk will be back in action, stepping up the rotation of the guards who will seek to slow James Harden down.
