Zouma pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping a cat
Filmed by his younger brother – Dagenham and Redbridge player Yoan Zouma – Zouma was filmed kicking and slapping one of their pet cats, shocking viewers around the world.
As a result, he was charged by the RSPCA under the Animal Welfare Act, with his two cats being cared for.
Zouma said he was “deeply sorry” for what he had done, before West Ham fined the player £250,000.
The player’s guilty plea comes after he was charged with two counts of causing ‘unnecessary suffering’ to the cat by kicking it in the abdomen and slapping it on the head, while not protecting the cat from “pain, injury or disease”. .
