CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago police say two kittens that were stolen from a traveler at O’Hare International Airport earlier this month and then rescued from a trash can have been found.
Police said the kittens – Perceive and Nivea – were in a blue carrier and were stolen from a traveler while he was awaiting his next flight in O’Hare on December 6.

The person who stole the kittens then threw the carrier and the kittens into a trash can. Police said two people who found the blue carrier saved the kittens and left the airport.
Hoping to identify the people who rescued the kittens and reunite the pets with their owner, police released surveillance footage of the two people who left the airport with the kittens on Monday.

Police said on Wednesday morning the kittens had been recovered and the incident was still under investigation, but provided no further information.
