Kick returner Abilene Christian goes viral for fair catch on 1-yard line

Small schools have to do just about anything to pull off road upsets in college football.

Abilene Christian punt returner Kendall Catalon made a huge mistake during Saturday’s Wildcats game at Missouri.

The senior Arkansas transfer made a rookie mistake, inexplicably making a good catch inside his team’s 1-yard line in the first quarter, instead of letting the ball bounce into the end zone for a hit.

Naturally, the moment went viral once it hit the internet.

“Young man, what are you doing?” a Twitter user wrote about the decision. The video of the moment only exploded from there.

A punt returner from Abilene Christian inexplicably called for a good catch at the 1-yard line.

Even the play-by-play announcer looked stunned, pausing before finally commenting, “Oh, on that one.”

Mistake aside, the Wildcats got off to a good start this season with wins over Lamar and Prairie View A&M. Facing Missouri was a different story, however, with the SEC program heading for a win.
