Kentucky lawyer Sharon Muse Johnson’s book could free alleged kidnapper

Frankie Covington served 16 years to life for the kidnapping of his former lawyer, but now he may have a chance at freedom.

The Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy is seeking to revoke Covington’s conviction and have him win a new trial on the grounds that Sharon Muse Johnson – Covington’s former attorney, who is now the Commonwealth Attorney for Bourbon Counties, Scott and Woodford – perjured herself when she testified at her trial.
