Janibek Alimkhanuly improved his case for finally inheriting Gennady Golovkin’s throne as the knockout king of Kazakhstan by obliterating Danny Dignum on Saturday night.
Over the past decade, GGG has been a relentless force in the middleweight division, representing his country on the world stage.

Golovkin is 41-1-1 (37 KOs) and at one point was on a 23-game stoppage win streak.
Now, however, there is a new Kazakh emerging at middleweight.
Janibek is 12-0 (8 KOs) and on a six-game stoppage win streak.
His new triumph is his most ruthless to date.
As it stands, GGG holds both the WBA and IBF world middleweight titles.
Jermall Charlo holds the WBC crown while Demetrius Andrade owns the WBO.
Andrade was expected to move up to super middleweight until an injury ruled him out of his next fight.

As a result of this attempted weight change, the WBO ordered an “interim” middleweight title fight between Janibek and Dignum.
It didn’t last very long at all.
Britain’s Dignum was well passed, hitting the canvas in the first lap.
He survived the opening, but failed to make it out of the second round.
Janibek finished the fight with a devastating uppercut, leaving Dignum on his back.

Now that he holds the WBO “interim” middleweight belt, Janibek is mandatory for Andrade’s next fight.
Time will tell if he will return to middleweight and hold his own against the Kazakh.
If not and he quits, then Janibek will simply be upgraded to become the full world champion.
