Karim Benzema almost didn’t make it to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night after LOST his pre-match security pass.
The Frenchman scored a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge as the La Liga leaders won their Champions League quarter-final first leg 3-1 in west London.

Ancelotti can now laugh at the problem his star man had before the game
But the Madrid native almost failed, boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed, after Benzema couldn’t find his stadium pass before the match.
But, pressed by his coach, the center forward finds his license and then finds the back of the net.
It was also revealed that the striker fasted all day during Ramadan before stepping onto the pitch, which makes his highs all the more impressive.
“Before the match, Benzema couldn’t find his pass to enter the stadium,” Ancelotti told Amazon Prime.
“I told him, ‘Be quick or you can’t play!’ – then luckily Karim found the pass.
There’s a chance Vinicius Junior helped solve his teammate’s safety issue as he looked handy in finding a pass for Benzema on Tuesday night.

Benzema bombarded the Chelsea defense at Stamford Bridge
The Brazilian got the assist for Benzema’s first goal – a terrific header into the top corner – while Luka Modric played a part in his second, and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy gave him his third.
All this despite not eating all day, having fasted during Ramadan.
Benzema currently observes Ramadan as part of his Muslim faith, requiring believers to fast from sunrise to sunset.
However, that didn’t hamper his performance – in fact, the Frenchman thinks it may have made him even stronger.

Benzema was simply unstoppable in West London
Asked about Ramadan’s impact on his playing career, Benzema recently said in an interview with Esquire: “No impact.
“Ramadan is part of my life and my religion makes Ramadan an obligation.
“For me it is very important and I feel good when I fast.”
When asked why he was grateful, he replied, “I’m grateful to be healthy.”
