MSNBC’s Joy Reid compared Republican voters to al-Qaeda, the foreign terrorist organization responsible for the attack on the Twin Towers that killed 2,977 people on September 11, 2001.

“Republicans vote like al-Qaeda fighters: with a patient, long-term goal of seizing power and forcing the libertine culture to bow under the boot; no matter how many elections it takes” , she said on Twitter on Tuesday.

According to Reid, Democrats are in the minority because “their younger, multiracial base is largely absent from midterm and state elections, while Republicans, who are predominantly white, rural and far-right Christian, vote in every time”.

Also on Tuesday, Reid said Republicans were “pro-rape.”

Reid, who hosts a primetime MSNBC show, often finds himself making headlines for extreme views.

This week, she said on her show that Republicans who vote against Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson are on the “Dixiecrat side of history” and that Donald Trump would have already been prosecuted if he was a Democrat.

Regarding Ukraine, Reid claimed that the world supports Ukraine because the country is teeming with white Christians.

“Let’s face it,” she said. “The world is watching because this is happening in Europe. If it were happening elsewhere, would we see the same outpouring of support and compassion? We need not wonder if our response would be the same if Russia unleashed their horror on a country that was not white and largely Christian.”

She also claimed that Republicans wanted a “white Christian autocracy.”

“They believe white Christians are somehow under siege and deserve to rule the United States without an election,” she said.
