Joe Biden to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral

President Joe Biden will attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, the White House confirmed on Friday, making him perhaps the most high-profile mourner considering attending.

The 96-year-old Queen died at her home in Balmoral, Scotland on Thursday and close family members rushed to be with her, including her grandson, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

The son of the late Queen, now King Charles III, has declared a period of royal mourning which will last for up to seven days after his mother’s funeral. Funeral details are expected to be announced shortly.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
