Joe Biden faces new question over contents of son Hunter’s laptop, Republicans vow to launch congressional investigation | American News

US President Joe Biden is facing new questions over the contents of a laptop belonging to his son, Hunter.

His Republican opponents have committed to using the new session of Congresswhich begins January 3, to investigate the controversy surrounding the hardware on the computer.

A computer repairman showed Sky News some of his content.

John Paul Mac Isaac says it heightens suspicions around the president’s involvement in his son’s business dealings overseas.

Republicans believe the laptop could provide evidence of a conflict of interest.

President Bidenfor his part, claims to have had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.

Mr. Mac Isaac met Hunter Biden when he walked into a repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, the Biden’s hometown.

He told Daily Sky News in April 2019 that Biden Jr, whose addiction struggles are well documented, walked into his store.

He said: “It was about 10 minutes before closing, Hunter walked into my shop – inebriated – with three liquid-damaged MacBook Pros.

“He was a little disheveled and kind of knocked over the laptops on the counter.

“He just wanted data recovery, he didn’t want those things fixed. He just wanted personal files and data removed from laptops.”

Mr. Biden did not return to retrieve the computer.

Under a 90-day “surrender procedure”, Mr Mac Isaac claims that after that period expired, he was entitled to access the material on the laptop.

“That’s when I saw the contents of the laptop, which obviously contained a lot of homemade Hunter pornography, I saw a lot of embarrassing photos – things no powerful family would ever want in possession of. anyone outside of this family.”

It is e-mail traffic that fuels allegations of presidential conflict of interest.

Hunter Biden was previously a board member of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.

The emails on his laptop included one from a company consultant, which read, “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving me the opportunity to meet your father and spend time together.”

Mr. Mac Isaac showed us a separate document referring to someone described as “my guy”.

He said: “Hunter refers to his dad as ‘my guy’, or ‘the president’ or ‘the big guy’.

The computer repairman donald trump partisan, said it raises questions for the president.

While Hunter Biden served on the board of directors of the Ukrainian firm, his father was vice-president of the obama administration and was responsible for the administration’s policy on Ukraine.

“Why did he lie to the American people? Because he was fully aware of his son’s business dealings, he was a tool of those dealings.”

President Biden has previously dismissed any suggestion that he has been compromised, previously calling it “Russian disinformation”.

The Republicans, newly invested with a majority in the House of Representatives, want to question more.

They are angered by what they see as a scandal largely ignored by mainstream media and major social media companies.

Mr. Mac Isaac says he turned the laptop over to the FBI in December 2019.

Subsequently, in the months leading up to the 2020 election, the New York Post published a report on its contents, but the story did not receive the column inches or airtime typically gained by allegations of corruption in the White House.

Much of this was due to FBI warnings about Russian disinformation in the months leading up to the 2020 election.

Facebook and Twitter say the concerns prompted them to restrict the spread of the story on their platforms.

In addition to the Hunter Biden laptop controversy, House Republicans plan to examine illegal immigration at the Mexican border and the US government’s handling of COVID-19 as they seek to undermine the Biden administration for the remaining two years of his presidential term.

Separately, Hunter Biden under investigation for possible tax crimes, makes false claim regarding gun purchase.

The decision to press charges rests with the US Attorney in Delaware.
