Jim Jordan tears up Kamala Harris for comparing January 6 to September 11, Pearl Harbor: “Disgusting”

Vice President Kamala Harris went too far when she compared the Capitol riot last January to events on other dark days in American history, U.S. Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio said Thursday evening.
Jordan made his case during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity”.
Earlier today, during a speech by the United States Capitol to mark the first anniversary of the riot, Harris claimed the incident was among tragedies such as the Japanese invasion of Pearl Harbor in 1941 or the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001..
“Certain dates resonate throughout history,” said Harris. “Including dates that instantly remind everyone who lived them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy was attacked. Dates that not only occupy a place on our calendar but a place in our collective memory. December 7, 1941, September 11, 2001 and January 6, 2021. “
But Jordan told host Sean Hannity the comparison was too extreme.
“The most disgusting part of the day was… where the Vice President of the United States said… January 6 was the equivalent of Pearl Harbor, was the equivalent of September 11,” Jordan said.
“Tell them that”
“Tell that to the granddaughter whose grandfather gave his life on D-Day,” he continued. “Tell that to the son whose father was one of the firefighters who entered the tower on September 11.
“Or frankly tell that to Max Soviak’s family – Max Soviak, one of 13 people in our district, one of 13 people who gave his life for our country this summer. Go tell them that.”
Jordan was referring to U.S. Marine Corps member Maxton Soviak, 22, from Berlin Heights, in the Jordanian state of Ohio, who was one of the U.S. servicemen killed in a terrorist attack in August in Kabul airport in Afghanistan after President Biden announced his intention to withdraw US troops from the country after two decades of involvement there.
The Ohio Republican then reminded viewers of “Hannity” that Harris had previously backed the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which helped raise deposits for rioters during the George Floyd protests in 2020.
“This is from the same lady who was raising money to free people from jail who attack law enforcement in the summer of 2020,” Jordan said.
“This is how ridiculous and out of touch Democrats are,” the congressman summed up.
Jordan, 57, represents Ohio’s 4th Congressional District, made up primarily of suburbs stretching from west Cleveland to northwest Columbus.
Pelosi says no
Jordan appeared on “Hannity” with US Representative Jim Banks of Indiana. The two Republicans were among GOP lawmakers selected for the Jan. 6 inquiry committee whose appointments by GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy were rejected earlier this year by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi .
In July, during an appearance on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Jordan claimed that he and other GOP candidates were rejected because Pelosi was likely fearful of the kind of questions Republicans would ask if they sat. to the panel, for example why the Capitol police were not better prepared to face the January 6 crowd.

He suggested that the responses might have poorly reflected Pelosi’s leadership regarding Capitol Hill security concerns.
