Jennifer Lawrence regrets not taking Adele’s career advice on box office bombshell


She may have an Oscar under her belt, but it hasn’t all been easy for Jennifer Lawrence.

But the actress admitted to making bad project decisions throughout her career, one of which was starring in the 2016 sci-fi film, ‘Passengers’.

Alongside Chris Pratt, Lawrence quickly found the film to be nothing short of a domestic box office bomb, racking up countless negative reviews and scoring a dismal 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“I was like, ‘Oh no, you’re here because I’m here, and I’m here because you’re here. Wait, who decided this was a good movie?'” she said. told the New York Times, before clarifying that “Passengers” made him feel that way.

The actress has revealed the sound advice she ultimately ignored by none other than singer Adele.

“Adele told me not to. She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to it,” Lawrence said, adding, “It was all like a rebound effect. I was reacting rather than acting.

“I felt more like a celebrity than an actor, cut off from my creativity, from my imagination,” Lawrence added.

Last month the actress said she was suffering from burnout after landing the role of her life in ‘The Hunger Games’ – revealing she had ‘lost control’ of her career.

“I think I lost control. Between releasing The Hunger Games and getting the Oscar [for Silver Linings Playbook]“, she told Variety. “I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.”
