January 6 committee asks Ivanka Trump to cooperate with investigation

The House panel investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack asked former President Donald Trump’s daughter, then-senior White House adviser Ivanka Trump, to provide information for their investigation into the insurgency. .
In a letter to Ivanka Trump on Thursday, the committee wrote asking for her “willing cooperation” on “a wide range of critical matters” regarding Jan. 6, 2021.
Earlier this month, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), vice chair of the select committee, said in an interview with ABC News that the committee had “first-hand testimony that her daughter Ivanka went to the least twice to ask [Trump] to please stop this violence.
The House committee appears to be closing in on Trump’s inner circle and family in its investigation. They subpoenaed the phone call and text logs of his son Eric Trump, who spoke at the pre-insurgency rally.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump could not prevent the release of White House filings to lawmakers investigating the Capitol attack.
